Life transitions can include many different experiences. It can be experiencing a birth, a death, menopause, divorce, a new job, retirement, becoming an empty nester and more. These events can be sudden or expected but are all major experiences that lead to a sense of loss. When the word loss is used in this context, it is used to signify a major change, particularly in life roles. This loss can trigger feelings of overwhelm, stress, anxiety and even depression. Psychotherapy can be extremely helpful in many ways.
Clients can be supported through a journey toward acceptance of change, which includes the need to grieve while accepting new life roles. Ultimately clients will create an individualized and unique pathway to achieve an outcome that leads to positive mental health and wellness.
